What pages does a small business website need?

The essential pages every small business website needs — homepage, about, services, contact, and more. Plus what content goes on each one.

Every small business website needs at minimum five pages: a homepage, an about page, a services page, a contact page, and a testimonials or reviews page. The homepage introduces your business and drives visitors to the right section. The about page builds trust with your story, your team, and your credentials. The services page details what you offer. The contact page makes it easy to reach you. And the testimonials page provides social proof that you deliver results.

Beyond the essentials, consider adding pages based on your industry: a project gallery for contractors and photographers, a menu page for restaurants, a blog for SEO content, a FAQ page to answer common questions and reduce phone calls, and a service area page for location-based businesses. Each additional page should serve a clear purpose — either answering a customer question, building trust, or targeting a specific search term.

Do not create pages for the sake of having a bigger website. Every page should have a clear purpose, be well-written with genuine content, and include a call to action. A five-page website with excellent content will outperform a twenty-page website with thin, repetitive filler. Focus on quality over quantity, and add pages only when you have something valuable to say that helps customers make a decision.
